Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data FursaTele collects, why, and your rights. We follow the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Act, 2022.

What we collect

If you only browse the website: we do not ask for any personal data. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.

If you subscribe to email alerts:

• your email address and, if you give it, your first name;
• the types of opportunities you chose and how often you want emails;
• if you fill them in, your education level, field of study or work, and years of experience;
• the date you gave consent and confirmed your email, and the IP address used to sign up (to prevent abuse);
• which opportunities we have already emailed you, so we don’t send them twice.

Why we use it

• To send you the opportunities you asked for, and only those that match your choices.
• To let you change your choices or unsubscribe.
• To protect the service from spam and abuse.

Our legal basis is your consent, which you give when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time.

What we never do

• We never sell, rent or share your data for marketing.
• We never send your details to employers or scholarship providers.
• We never ask for passwords, ID numbers or bank details.

Who processes it

Your data is stored on our web hosting server and emails are sent through our email service. These providers handle the data only to run FursaTele.

How long we keep it

We keep your subscription while it is active. When you unsubscribe, we stop all emails immediately. If you ask, we delete your data completely.

Cookies and browser storage

• Language cookie: remembers whether you chose English or Swahili.
• Session cookie: used only on the subscribe form, to protect it from fake submissions.
• Saved opportunities: the ones you “Save” are kept only in your own browser, not on our server.

We do not use advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to its use. Use the “Change your choices” or “Unsubscribe” link in any FursaTele email, or write to us.
